OUR NURSERY ROOM

Our Nursery Garden

Our outdoor area and garden is a particular feature of the nursery being some 130 square metres in area, very well equipped and secure all round. In line with the best practices contained in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the garden is an extension of the indoor play and learning environment, where children can choose the activities that engage them. The extensive safety surfacing has allowed us to create an all-weather playground to burn off some of that excess energy. We have also installed a large canopy, which provide additional shade on sunny days and shelter on those wet days. At the side of the garden, children will be able to enjoy digging, planting. Sand and water and mark making activities will be available during the children’s free flow experiences.

Next door to the nursery is a memorial garden and the other side is the local library and dentist and vets. We are participating in local outings with the children after seeking permission from parents/carer, risk assessments and ratios adhered too, using the local community as an extension to the children’s learning.
